This blog was initially just some of the stuff I liked enough to post online, but of late I have decided to make my site for all intents and purposes as a online portfolio... Leave comments good or bad (I can take it lol)...It's mainly a page I made for my friends as well, since most told me to make one to get my name out there and try to get freelance-ish work, which I have now! So if you like what I can do, don't get nervous just leave me a message...

Akala [Knowledge In The Booth]
This is one of my favorite artists, Akala. This piece is just something I was working on in my sketchbook whilst listening to his new mixtape Knowledge Is Power. Great artist, youtube or google him, very inspiring and incredibly diverse.

Veritas; The Progenitor
This is the 1st posted piece of a sketchbook collection of pieces I'm doing surrounding my Veritas, and I'm trying to be a little more experimental with them than my usual visual language..

Nearing the end of my III A5 Moleskine Sketchbook
Is-Ought |
Ma'at Synergy |
These are a couple of new-ish pages from my moleskine sketchbook, I haven't really been drawing lately which I'm kinda ashamed of but I'll get back into it..
It just takes me a while to feel inspired enough to draw, and reading and observing media is a good way of starting for me, so I read, watch, listen to music and draw simultaneously.. It's long and tedious if I don't have anything in mind, but if I have a spark of an idea then the ball rolls by itself..
'Is-Ought' is something I came across while reading, and in a lot of my sketchbook pages, you may find random pieces of information as letters, drawings or symbols which all stem from my readings, watchings and listenings..
The bottom image is something I'm still working on, I know I'm too precious with my sketchbook pages but when I have finished one to the degree I call finished, they really express exactly what I have been thinking (to me) even if they're understood different than I mean, all is good!

Although I had more ideas, some I thought may be to controversial or 'deep' for a first edition of a new publication, and so went with my most universal idea.
I may produce another piece called, 'The More Words We Know, The More We Can See', which is an extended ideology (not broad enough to be a philosophy), that poses that we do not see with our physical eyes but our minds, and the more words we are attune with, the wider our gauge of material things we can perceive..
Do Geese See God? [Printing/Book binding project]
This little sequence of drawings is a scanned version from a maquette I made for a print project in creating a book from advice myself along with a partner would have liked to know before starting our BA course. Given my experience of being away from home for a year already before the course and the timid nature of my partner, we agreed we'd give advice/ record on the experiences I'd had and the experiences he's yet to have.
This 4 images are from side of the 8 page sequential and my advice was;
1. Have a social life
2. Avoid engaging with mormons
3. Your money will run out
4. Break some rules

I am Self-Actualized..
I am Free, not Freed..
I Wait for no one, and wish to not be Waited upon..
I Appreciate what I Can and Cannot Control..
I am Depreciative of what I Cannot Control and what I Can..
I am ambitious in my quest for Knowledge and generous in my share of Understanding..
I am Basic..
I am Complex..
I want All in a Selfless way and want Nothing in a Selfish one..

Gasei's Log #00004 *Ubuntu
As a curious young mind of Zambian (African) descent, living and brought up in Britain, I found that culturally I was never truly in sync with any traditions of my heritage other the respect of elders, which is generally - even though not implemented as much so where I've lived by natives - dogma everywhere.
But whilst reading and net-surfing as you do in this Golden Information Age, I found an African philosophy called Ubuntu ["I am what I am because of who we all are." (From a translation offered by Liberian peace activist Leymah Gbowee.)]. Which is from what I've read, a general African belief, although the word is South African, it is evident that many African cultures have taken this system on in the past, and even now in traditional villages.
When I found this, I felt like I had found something I could be proud of as an African having being taught everywhere that philosophies and great doctrines were only in Western cultures, which is no fault to anyone, - when in Rome, do as the Romans do - but finding this meant a lot to me, as its something I feel I could take on personally to raise my own self value as an a Zambian, as an African..
Ubuntu is recognised as being an important source of law within the context of strained or broken relationships amongst individuals or communities and as an aid for providing remedies which contribute towards more mutually acceptable remedies for the parties in such cases. Ubuntu is a concept which[ definitions by Judge Colin Lamont]:

Ubuntu is a concept which[ definitions by Judge Colin Lamont]:
- is to be contrasted with vengeance;
- dictates that a high value be placed on the life of a human being;
- is inextricably linked to the values of and which places a high premium on dignity, compassion, humaneness and respect for humanity of another;
- dictates a shift from confrontation to mediation and conciliation;
- dictates good attitudes and shared concern;
- favours the re-establishment of harmony in the relationship between parties and that such harmony should restore the dignity of the plaintiff without ruining the defendant;
- favours restorative rather than retributive justice;
- operates in a direction favouring reconciliation rather than estrangement of disputants;
- works towards sensitising a disputant or a defendant in litigation to the hurtful impact of his actions to the other party and towards changing such conduct rather than merely punishing the disputant;
- promotes mutual understanding rather than punishment;
- favours face-to-face encounters of disputants with a view to facilitating differences being resolved rather than conflict and victory for the most powerful;
- favours civility and civilised dialogue premised on mutual tolerance.

Gasei's Log #00003
Jealousy/Envy; I can honestly and wholeheartedly say that, - as a proclamation to myself and others - that there is nothing that I am envious of or hold an animosity to that stems from their ownership of materialistic things or otherwise which they are in a better of.. I am getting myself into a higher understanding of myself and others, awareness of truths and acknowledgement of facts, and lies. And doing so, my logic only reasons to be jealous of an alternate Kay Gasei in a parallel universe who has been through the same experiences I have but is in a better(?) position that I am, which is impossible because there would have to be a slight change in experience for an alternate outcome - I'd hope..

Humanity Is Afrikan; Even if Not Black [UNFINISHED]
Along with a video of a musician (rapper) name Akala I favour his lyrical style, content and general ethos. Especially regarding this particular freestyle, which is longer than average and gives a clear insight to how he thinks and portrays his intelligence and personal thoughts through his music..
Also when I drew this piece, parts of this freestyle along with a few other tracks the artist's, resonated with me and subsequently my instruments and I imparted thoughts into this although which probably won't be visible to an audience but when I personally look at it, I see what I heard, interpreted and felt.

The Consortium Code Anthology - Id, Ego & SuperEgo
This project is of a personal nature where I tried to express my thoughts, feelings and ideas as well as my draughtsmanship/ illustrational* growth. On each page I try to find the balance of efficiency and effectiveness whilst thinking in the most basic of ways - to myself - to get something down which has meaning to only myself but instils an empathetic response. (thinking without thinking)...
I used as many sources for inspiration as possible, music, film, imagery, art, science, life etc. - my inspiration comes from everything and nothing. (I tried to automatically impart my ideals and feelings without consciously doing so). I hope that doing this personal project has allowed me to gain access to my psychological and philosophical balance.
As much as some things may look mundane and/or boring, I probably had a specific reason and logic to it being put down without the textual explanation.
[I used both hands in these pieces trying to improve my dexterity] Enjoy/hate it, see it, think it - go away - come back and think differently about the same pieces.
Any comments will be appreciated.
