The Sephtonian Minster

This piece is called the 'Sephtonian Minster' because it's a picture of a friend of mine named Sam Sephton and his favorite building is the 'York Minster', so you should see the word play there... I drew this picture with pen straight away, which is the way I used to draw when I was 14/15 because I thought it showed more skill without the preparation of pencils... In the image I drew him, fireman sam & a Blue Swallow, along with the actual York Minster and a seashell with 'stuff' coming out if it, in the style of Gabriel Moreno who is also one of Sam's favorite illustrators... So far this drawing has taken me 4/5 hours and should another 4/5 to finish lol...

Anchor and the Wolf

This is a pen sketch I did for a friend of a friend - which is now a friend of mine - who's in a band called 'Anchor and the Wolf'...
It took me about an hour and a bit, I quite like it if I'm honest, the girl in the drawing is the friend and lead singer of the band... As you can see the guitar position with the curved wooden platform the girl and wolf are standing on make the shape of an anchor which is not too creative but again, I like it... What inspired me to do it was luck really, I was thinking of what to draw in my visual diary and I saw my her (lead singer) online and I thought, 'Hey, she's in a band, album art' and then just got ideas for the drawing from the name of the band really... Erm I don't know what else to say about it, but hope you like it!

Gasei WANTED

This is another drawing representing how I felt, but I remember how I felt when drawing his... It was because I just started my illustration pathway in my access course and I was deciding whether or not to show my work to my classmates... This so far has taken me 5/6 hours, but I stopped on purpose waiting for something else significant to happen to me for me to add to it... I used the me from my other piece 'Universal Insanity', because I feel that will be an on-going feeling, so that character will represent me in all my works for the foreseeable future...
The 3 me, in the wanted poster are named Vision, Speed & Strength, which are how I'd break down my process in work or the properties need to work...
-Vision's main purpose is Hear-No-Evil
-Speed's main purpose is Speak-No-Evil
-and Strength's main purpose is See-No-Evil...
this is why each of them has either their mouth, ears or eyes covered... Basically saying I try not to listen to outside influence in matters of my own work!
The super-hero looking girl is a friend of mine named Susan-MaryJane-PoisonIvy-Red-PippyLongStocking-Rosey & any other name of person with red hair...
The man on the ribbon may be my negative or the devil, I have no clue yet...

Universal Insanity

This illustration was supposed to be a direct visual expression of how I was feeling at that time. I don't know if I had a headache or if I was angry, it was just confusion, one of those days where I had mixed feelings about a lot of things... And to be honest this is how I think I usually feel, like I have the world on my back (stress), a computer connected to my brain (always thinking) and the planets, galaxies & stuff are elements of my character/personality... The scrolls & pens represent me making a deal with the universe for my talent (although that never happened - to my knowledge).. I think??? My right arm being mechanical is because I'm really left-handed, so I usually feel like my right is expendable, artificial something I don't really need but have anyway... When this is done, it should represent me totally.. I hope, although I'm passed the exact feelings I had when I started it...

This drawing took me about 4 hours, longer than I expected when I started but I like the outcome, I'm in the process of colouring it, so a post of that should be up sometime in the near-ish future... The cowboy, John, is probably my favorite character so far out of all the characters I've created, in his story and drawing him... Another character, Leucas, is probably second and you may see drawings of him if you look around hard enough lol but then Kanein Alabasta who is the main character is my third fave which is pretty weird but, oh-well!..

The Cardinals

Volume 01

This is an album full of characters from the comic I want to create called 'The Cardinals', it's a longer process than I thought to start up a comic... So basically for it I've written a storyline and a bunch of images of characters... For it I didn't want to release a weekly series, I'd rather release it in volumes or saga's so I have a better handle on the storyline and such, because - no disrespect to weekly releases - the usual comics/manga that are released weekly have certain storyholes or irritating surprises which I myself wouldn't want in my own to have a fellow fan etc. commenting say 'oh, so and so, this storylines a bag of balls'...

Pedlar's Workshop...

This is picture is basically a metaphor for the statement, 'I wanna know how you think'... Pedlar is my tutor/teacher, so it's his workshop - he wants to know how we (students) think. The implementation of the knives and butcher-esque scene is supposed to add to the idea of exploration, cutting & opening etc. which I think it does pretty well considering a brain is laying around - it's also supposed represent is aggressiveness to finding out how we think...
I did this using only inks, it took a couple hours quick than it would have since I drew with ink from scratch rather pencil sketch then inked...

Time To Open Up... How Complicated Is My Heart?

This is a not-so-quick ink drawing I did for my visual diary in my illustration class...
I got the 4 questions from someones sketchbook, and thought it'd be interesting to see what I could generate from my own answers. And that contraption was the answer, - since I consider myself slightly paranoid or secretive - a vault type deal with four major compartments all access by sound. Although a vault usually has bolts and key holes with other nibbly bits & bobs, mine is run with clockwork as you can see by the gears and what not... I think I was trying to explain me opening up takes time, I didnt think too much about what it meant while I was drawing - which is evident by me not drawing it in pencil then inking, I started inking straight away...
