Akala [Knowledge In The Booth]

This is one of my favorite artists, Akala. This piece is just something I was working on in my sketchbook whilst listening to his new mixtape Knowledge Is Power. Great artist, youtube or google him, very inspiring and incredibly diverse.

Nearing the end of my III A5 Moleskine Sketchbook

Is-Ought

Ma'at Synergy

These are a couple of new-ish pages from my moleskine sketchbook, I haven't really been drawing lately which I'm kinda ashamed of but I'll get back into it..
It just takes me a while to feel inspired enough to draw, and reading and observing media is a good way of starting for me, so I read, watch, listen to music and draw simultaneously.. It's long and tedious if I don't have anything in mind, but if I have a spark of an idea then the ball rolls by itself..
'Is-Ought' is something I came across while reading, and in a lot of my sketchbook pages, you may find random pieces of information as letters, drawings or symbols which all stem from my readings, watchings and listenings..
The bottom image is something I'm still working on, I know I'm too precious with my sketchbook pages but when I have finished one to the degree I call finished, they really express exactly what I have been thinking (to me) even if they're understood different than I mean, all is good!
Individual Interpretation is what its all about lol

Gasei tha "Power x 4"

This piece Power is just an expression of Religious influence with Anatomical Surrealism or so in my head, it is the type of idea that pops into my head every so often but can never be rendered and done justice on a real surface. Although I like this outcome, it is nothing like what I think about and so with that, hopefully I'll carry on trying to express this thought/ feeling on-going until I feel satisfied with what I will have done..
The shapes represent different virtues while the Green Triangle represents Power, Courage and Wisdom and the flesh of the body is exposed portraying the raw feral nature of the Power while having 4 arms which does the opposite idea of advancement and complexity.. Nothing is a simple is what Power x 4 means to me in a way whilst it also expresses a power no one has but wishes naively..
it;s complicated to describe exactly what I think about the piece.. TBC

Ghast Cherubs; Zeus, Poseidon & Hades featuring...

Zeus, Poseidon & Hades = Din, Farore & Nayru = Athos, Porthos & Aramis...

These cherubs, which I've been drawing ever a since an editorial brief I got in October 2010, they were initially meant to be cherubs who's wings were clipped for a newspaper heading 'Flying Babies Grounded', but I seem to draw them a lot and for no particular reason lol... In this illustration was done by pencil then inked, I gave them new purpose, usually they're named after the 3 musketeers; Athos, Porthos and Aramis. But in this instance they take the characters of the 'Big Three'; Zeus (center), Poseidon (right) and Hades (left), in which I also gave them the slight resemblances of the gods. Not ending there somewhere on each them I also engraved additional names; Din (center), Nayru (right) and Farore (left), which are the names of the three deities from a very famous and favorite game of mine. Din reprensented Power, Nayru represented Wisdom and Farore represented Courage, which now that I think about, Poseidon/Porthos should've had Courage instead of Wisdom and Hades/Aramis should've have Wisdom instead of Courage, but oh well, t'is life, nothing can be done now lol... There of the stuff in the background isnt of any significance, I just wanted to fill the page... The whole took me maybe 4 hours to do...
